What data is processed?
In the following paragraphs, you will find an overview of the personal data we process on our website and the legal bases on which this processing is founded.
Lost property reports
When filling out a lost property report, you provide us with personal data that we process exclusively for the purpose of fulfilling the service:
- First and last name
- Address
- Email address
- Preferred language
- Phone number (optional)
- Details about the lost item, which include personal data (e.g., date/year of birth, ID card number, debit card number, social security number, …)
An integral part of the service is the transmission of your data to public lost property offices in Switzerland (municipalities, cities). The latter may only use the data to fulfill the legal tasks of a lost property office in order to inform you of the find and return the item to you.
If you have also given your consent to such processing, your data will also be transmitted to private lost property management organizations (e.g., public transport companies and airports) and to the competent lost property authorities of other European countries. These organizations or authorities may also use the data exclusively to inform you of the find and to return the item to you.
Data will be stored for 12 months for these purposes, pursuant to Article 6(1)(a) and (b) of the GDPR.
Server log files
In order to ensure the security and proper functioning of our websites, we are required to collect and analyze access data (web page visited, time of access, browser, operating system, IP address). In the event of a security incident, this data is used to identify and resolve the cause. Pursuant to Article 6(1)(f) of the GDPR, data is stored for this purpose for 12 months.
Contact forms
As part of processing your request regarding our products, we process the data you transmit to us via the contact form. If your request also concerns the products of our partners, your data may be forwarded to these partners in order to respond to your request. In this case, processing is based on Article 6(1)(b) and (f) of the GDPR, as it serves the initiation of a contractual relationship with us and is in our legitimate interest. Your data will be stored for as long as necessary to process your request.

Our website uses so-called cookies. These are small text files that are stored on your device via the browser. There are two main types of cookies: technically necessary cookies, which are essential for the operation of a website, and technically non-necessary cookies, which collect usage statistics, for example.
